Research Ethics @NMT

Workshops series sponsored by the Office of Research

Ethics reside at the core of the research process, motivating inquiry, guiding practice, and promoting an ethos of accountability and equity. Organized by Professor Chris ChoGlueck, this series in Research Ethics aims to support and improve ethics among our research community by offering workshops that foster more awareness and deliberation and build a network of support. All are invited to participate in these conversations about ethics & integrity in our research communities at NMT.

Upcoming Workshops in Spring 2024:

Basics of Responsible Research

How can I avoid misconduct & plagiarism?

Why should we value reproducible results?

This interactive workshop provides an introduction to major challenges in research ethics. Facilitated by Professor of Ethics Chris ChoGlueck (CLASS) for the Research Ethics @NMT series, this workshop covers research misconduct, plagiarism, questionable research practices, collaborative research, conflicts of interest/commitment, peer review, and reproducibility of research results. It will be particularly helpful for undergraduate and graduate students conducting research on campus. If you cannot attend in person, the workshop can be viewed on Zoom or as a recording (email Christopher ChoGlueck). This event is free and open to all members of the broader NMT community.
